Wanda Whiteley – Founder and editor-in-chief
Wanda has worked for over 20 years in the publishing industry. After starting out in children’s publishing at Penguin, she moved to adult book publishing. For 12 years she was a Publishing Director at HarperCollins where she selected and shaped hundreds of projects for the marketplace. She is an independent consultant for Writers and Artists, and her blog is published on their site. As a writer, Wanda has collaborated on two memoirs: Streetkid, which spent 20 weeks in the top 10 of the Sunday Times’ non-fiction bestsellers list in 2005; and Marmalade and Machine Guns, published in August 2012. John Carter – Associate editor, adult fiction and business books
John Carter has degrees in English from the Universities of Seattle and Edinburgh. He divides his time between thriller writing and brand-marketing consulting. His business writing has appeared in publications such as Marketing, Marketing Week, and Campaign. He has worked in advertising agencies for over 20 years and past clients include Hodder, Pearson, Disney, and the Literary Review. John’s first novel, Click to Kill, was published in 2019.
Gabriel Burrow – Associate editor, adult and children’s fiction
Gabriel specialises in science fiction, fantasy and speculative fiction, with a keen eye for impactful storytelling. He is currently studying for an MA in literature at Leiden University, specialising in contemporary and speculative fiction. A grandson of world-renowned fantasy author Diana Wynne Jones, Gabriel has a deep-rooted love of all things fantastical and has the skills to help authors bring their imagined worlds to life.
